Told you there were a lot! 🙂 Until now, though, we had never recorded our relationship story out loud. We originally decided to do this for memories and posterity, and since I’ve been all about YouTube lately, I decided to share it! You can watch our relationship story (how we met, fell in love, got engaged and married, etc.) below or on YouTube here. (Make sure to subscribe, this video has been available to subscribers for four days!)

A mutual friend introduced us my junior year of college! We both attended the same school, but he graduated my sophomore year. I was sitting at lunch with the mutual friend and he said “Do you know Matt? You guys would be perfect together!” I said “Who the heck is that?” (Such a way with words, right? haha) That was the first of November.
Our friend messaged him while he was in India on a mission trip because he thought it couldn’t wait, so it was 3 in the morning. Matt got the message, looked me up on Facebook, and said he would message me when he got back to the States. After that, he messaged me “Hi Anna, my name is Matt. I cried during Toy Story 3 and if you can’t handle that level of vulnerability then we can’t be friends.” We got to know each other via Facebook messenger for the rest of November and all of December.
We went on our first date in January of 2016, and neither of us knew if it was a “date” date or just a casual date. Matt didn’t buy my coffee at the coffee shop we went to, and as soon as we got our drinks he said “This is a date right?” I said, “I think so.” And he apologized for not buying my coffee. The next day I checked my mail in my campus mailbox and there was a note from him with a gift card to the coffee shop we went to. His note was him apologizing for not buying my coffee and that he was looking forward to the dates that would come. We have been dating ever since! 🙂
So sorry for the novel haha I love getting to tell our story, and I loved watching/reading your love story! You and Riley are so cute!
