If you watched Why 2016 Was Tough + My Focus Word For 2017, you know that last year was challenging for me personally, and I am focused on becoming more rooted in 2017. Today I’m sharing my November: Rooted video! Many of my loyal Rooted viewers have asked to hear Riley’s side of the story–what has his experience been? What’s his perspective? Does he feel guilty? All of those questions (and more) will be answered in today’s video.
Below is my November: Rooted video! You can watch it below or on YouTube here.
// How was your November? Are you making any progress on your 2017 word for the year or New Year’s resolution?

This was a great video! Thanks for sharing so openly with us! I’m just curious; in your earlier videos you mentioned volunteering. Is this something you ended up doing?

Thanks for watching, Carolyn. Without going into great detail, I did everything I could to volunteer at the local Boys and Girls Club. Countless phone calls, multiple meetings, email after email, etc. Unfortunately, word around town (and my experience) is that the club is poorly managed. I never heard from them after months of trying to volunteer there, so I shifted my focus. I now volunteer at our church! Hope that answers your question. xoxo

Love this series! I had a very similar experience. I grew up in a city, and my husband lived in a small town. I moved here because that’s what made sense. It was a huge culture shock! I’ve been here 8 years now. I have felt that loneliness and struggled to adapt myself! Making friends was hard but it happened for me, and I know it will continue to happen for you!
Your husband seems so sweet and supportive! Hard times don’t have to hurt your relationship, and I really appreciated seeing that in your video!
