Today is our two year wedding anniversary! If you follow me on Instagram, you know that we’re currently in Seattle for the long weekend to celebrate. We’ve had a lovely trip so far.
I’ve been thinking about this day for the past couple of months. In reflecting on the past two years, I haven’t been able to come up with one big takeaway or lesson learned the way I did on our first anniversary. Each time I think about our marriage, I think how more than anything, our relationship feels normal and natural now.
Normal and natural aren’t sexy, but normal and natural are a gift too.
This is the first year in eight where I haven’t moved house. The first time I’ve not had to update my address on every account. In eight years! That normalcy is so sweet to me.
Riley and I, we’ve learned how to communicate. All the little fights and frustrations of our first year have leveled out to a deep understanding and love. We get each other. Our relationship is simpler, yet somehow more complex. This is the paradox of marital love, I guess.
We talk about the future some, but we’re content where we are today. Just the two of us, together. Happy two years to us! Thank God for the gift of our love and marriage.
// If you’d like to see what our wedding day was like two years ago, here is our wedding film. Enjoy!

Happy Anniversary! Year 2 did feel like it had a certain rhythm to it. We are on year 7(and a half!) so take it from me, it only gets better if you let it!
