We Booked Our Venue! (The Milestone Denton)

The day after we got engaged, Riley and I started casually looking for venues online. We mostly just searched for “Denton, Texas weddings” and “Austin, Texas weddings” online, and then looked through Google Images. Whenever we saw a photo with a venue that looked promising, we’d click through and research it. No kidding–our very first “Oh my gosh, click through!” moment was for The Milestone Denton. I immediately fell in love. I mean, look at the place! It’s absolutely gorgeous.

Because we came across this venue so quickly, we decided not to settle without properly researching other venues in both cities first. (In case you’re new around here, at present, Riley lives in Denton and I live in Austin.) We looked and looked (and looked and looked and looked), but I absolutely could not find another venue that I liked half as much as The Milestone.

You see, I grew up in Maryland, and The Milestone’s style nods to my East Coast upbringing (Not because my childhood home looked anything like it, but because of the style of architecture in general!). Many Texas venues I found were cute, but they had just a touch too much Texas charm for me. I simply couldn’t picture my wedding photos with large metal stars, wrought iron railings, and cacti in them. Try telling a bunch of venues in Texas that you don’t want your wedding to feel too, well, Texan.

Let’s start off in the gorgeous foyer. I mean, really. Those stairs. The light. That gorgeous chandelier. I am utterly in love with it. I can just imagine the beautiful photos on the stairs and with those columns. Behind us (or the photographer taking this photo), is a lovely fireplace and sitting area, pictured below.  Another great place for photos!

Next, let’s take a gander into the Bridal Suite and Groom’s Suite. (Something unique and wonderful about The Milestone–it also has a Family Suite for close relatives to hang out before the wedding!) First, let’s check out the Bridal Suite. (This isn’t a great photo of the space, but you get the idea, right? 🙂 )

And, for the Groom’s Suite. Which, by the way, Riley is thrilled to death about! It has pool and arcade games–what more could a guy want?

I don’t have any photos of the family suite, but it’s just as gorgeous as the rest of the venue! Isn’t that a nice touch?

Okay, moving on to the most important room in the venue, where we’ll actually become man and wife: the ceremony space. (I was looking for a place where I could host both my ceremony and reception because so many out of town guests will have to navigate unfamiliar Texas roads already!)

Oh, how I love this ceremony space. This photo doesn’t have any décor other than what the venue provides, and it’s absolutely beautiful. I’d like to add a few touches (like flower petals and candles down the aisle), so I can’t even imagine how wonderful it will be to officially tie the know in this gorgeous space.

Now, on to where we’ll laugh and dance: the reception area. I love this space. (Hey, can you tell I like this venue?) Again, the photo below is exactly what the venue provides, nothing more. And how beautiful is it?! (Yes, flowers are included in the package! Woo hoo!)

There are so many reasons why I have fallen in love with The Milestone–but mostly because I can completely picture myself in each of the spaces pictured above (and more to come below!). Isn’t it a lovely space for a first dance? A father-daughter dance? Or a huge dance party? I can’t wait to be married in general, and I definitely can’t wait to get married here!

Okay, now that you’ve seen the important spaces inside The Milestone, let’s take a look outside. Oh my, these grounds are so breathtaking! First of all, it has a pier! LOVE. (Also, this couple is just adorable together, aren’t they?)

The rest of the grounds are beautiful as well! (Look at the first photo in the post, I mean really!) Here are a few more shots of the grounds (and another pretty couple!).
